Home to 33 of the world’s best beaches, there are of course at least a few dozen glorious bars to contribute to your perfect day at the beach. Uncle Ernie’s, Shoal Bay and Johnno’s in Sandy Ground were, for some time, Anguilla’s most famous “beach bars”.  The longstanding Uncle Ernie’s marks the public entrance to Shoal Bay Beach. Johnno’s has been a staple of the Anguillan dance scene for as long as anyone in Anguilla who can still dance can remember. 

When the sun sets (and even on occasion when the sun is up!) Anguilla offers a unique mix of entertaining venues that are truly Anguilla!  No casinos, no flashing lights, no tourist traps – but lots of pure fun which encourages you to join in, be yourself and make some friends- all are welcome! A sleepy village by day, Sandy Ground is where the barefoot drinking action is every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.  Great conversation and a game of darts can be found at Ripples; Reggae and a light bite found at The Pumphouse; everything from goat tacos to an outdoor movie theatre at Elvis’ Beach Bar; and a classic Jump-Up at Johnno’s.

For a taste of the local cool crowd, head to the Dune Preserve, Rendezous Bay or to Smokey's at Cove Bay. For the latest night scene hotspot , go to the Strip, next to the People's Market,  in The Valley. But if it's some old school fun you're looking for, go to the English Rose (karaoke on Fridays) or to the Red Dragon (Over 30's party every last Friday of the month).

Most resorts and hotels offer nightly entertainment in key seasons, and there are several excellent local bands who perform frequently at venues across the island. But if you're more of an early bird, or would like to get the whole family involved, fear not, Anguilla is an island that dances all day long, too, especially on Sundays, in Shoal Bay: Gwen's Reggae Grill, Elodia's Beach Bar and Madearirman Reef; or head to Sandy Ground for some live music!
