Where to go after dark in the US Virgin Islands

 

From the laid-back atmosphere of St John's and the lively performances on St Croix, to the vibrant city life of St Thomas, the USVI's three islands offer various night time entertainments and ambiances to suit your daily state of mind. Enjoy a relaxing sunset jazz performance by the water, or try your luck at the casino on St Croix, a candlelit dinner by the beach or calypso performance on St John, or sing and dance the night away on St Thomas. Whatever evening fun you need, chances are you'll find it in the USVI!

ST CROIX 
After having an exciting day, make the evening just as exciting! Enjoy a wide variety of live music and theatre performances, plus several art and wine events unique to St. Croix. If you’re feeling lucky, don’t miss the Vegas-styleDivi Carina Bay Casino with its signature, carefree Caribbean spirit, and if you fancy showing off your best dance moves, go to Tutto Bene in Christiansted. 

For a bit of Calypso and Steel Pan, go to RumrunnersDuggan's Reef, or The Buccaneer Terrace Lounge (all in Christiansted). For performing arts, check out the Caribbean Community Theatre in Orange Grove, Island Centreof St Croix, or Whim Great House.

If you happen to be visiting St Croix between November and June, you may be able to experience one of Christiansted's Art Thurdays, taking place every first Thursday of the month and featuring late night gallery walks. 

Dying to give your best rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody? You'll find some karaoke fun at Elizabeth's @ H2O, andDivi Carina Bay Beach Resort, both in Christiansted. But if you're looking for a more relaxed kind of entertainment, go to listen to some piano music at the Galleon (Christiansted), or get your jazz and blues on at the Blue Moon(Frederiksted), Lobster Reef, or Golden Rail (both in Christiansted). And if you happen to be in Frederiksted on the 3rd Friday night of the month, go enjoy the live Sunset Jazz on the Waterfront Stage.

ST JOHN 
If you’re after a romantic, low-key evening, then St. John offers the atmosphere you crave. Enjoy of a calypso night at the beach with its contagious rhythm (Fred's Bar in Cruz Bay, or Sputnik II at Coral Bay), head to an open-air jazz bar (Beach BarLa Tapa, Beach Café), or just let loose, head and sing at one of the popular karaoke bars (Island Blues in Coral Bay).


ST THOMAS 
St. Thomas is famous for being lively when the sun sets. For all the singing and dancing you could ever want there are plenty of popular places- simply follow the crowds or ask around. Evening activities revolve around the major resorts, but you can also find many smaller venues, which offer open mic nights and DJs spinning until dawn.

Traditional Steel Pan and Calypso can be enjoyed at Agave TerraceEmerald Beach ResortIndigo Bar and Cruzan Beach Club, whilst the Pistarckle TheatreTillet Gardens and Reichhold Center for the Arts provide other performing arts entertainments. 


DINING
Due to their rich cultural heritage, the Virgin Islands' dining scene represents a large selection of international cuisine. However, if you're looking to expand your knowledge of the various flavours and colours of the Caribbean cuisine, the islands have a selection of places for you to get a taste of the local fare.

In St Croix, head to Rum Runners, the Galleon Restaurant (both in Christiansted), Mahi's Seaside Seafood (Chenay Bay), the Flamboyant Lounge (Carambola Bay), or the Cultured Pelican (Coakley Bay Condos). 

In St John, find the authentic local flavours at Fred's Restaurant Bar, Sogo's Restaurant, Rhumb Lines, Morgan's Mango, Hercules Pate Delight (all in Cruz Bay), and Sweet Plantains Restaurant (Coral Bay).
