Climate

In Curaçao the climate is tropical, hot all year round, with daytime temperatures ranging from around 28/29 degrees Celsius (82/84 °F) in December, January and February, to around 31 °C (88 °F) from May to October. The period from May to October is the most sultry, but the trade winds blow constantly, tempering the heat. 

The climate is sunny and dry. The only relatively rainy period goes from October to December, but it's not much. From November to January or mid-February, the northeast trade winds bring showers quite frequently, although usually not abundant. 

The best time to visit Curaçao runs from mid-February to May.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Although the island does offer good public transport, taking visitors to most points of interest, the routes and frequency of Curaçao's buses are pretty limited. During your stay, you might notice two types of buses. The collective cars or vans, found mostly on urban routes, have a capacity of 9 passengers and are recognisable by the word "BUS" on their registration plate; And the Konvooi, large buses typically serving longer routes. The major bus terminals are located in Punda (12 routes) and Otrobanda (9 routes), with routes taking you to most parts of the island including beaches, parks, and shopping areas, however, most city routes have one bus per hour, whilst westbound routes have one bus every two hours.

CAR
With many rental companies available over the island, it is easy for visitors to rent a car and make their way around Curaçao, although we advise you to check several agencies' rates before going ahead with your booking, as prices tend to vary considerably. Consider enquiring about renting the vehicle for a few days or a week to obtain a better daily rate.

BIKES & MOTORCYCLES
If you prefer the eco-friendly solution of a bike, or the lighter and cheaper solution of a motorcycle, you will findalso many companies around the island to rent from. Additionally, some of these rental companies offer tours that take you through the best routes and points of interest of the island, by bike or quad bike.
