Where to go after dark in St Kitts & Nevis
As the sun sets on a day relaxing on the beach or being out and about- there are still plenty of things to do and places to explore.
As is typical on most Caribbean islands, you’ll probably find that your hotel offers some sort of evening entertainment- ranging from the on-site bar or nightclubs to theatrical performances and dance shows. If you fancy a venture out of the hotel, there are plenty of options, and it’s often said that the two islands of St. Kitts and Nevis boast the most active nightlife- especially in the Frigate Bay area.
BARS
If you’re looking for an upmarket spot to kick back and relax, then head to Keys Cigar Bar with its comfy chairs, a large selection of aged rums and Cuban cigars and chess tables. You’ll also likely find some jazz and salsa music here too.
While you might think of bars being late and loud, there are some bars which are open all day and close relatively early; Monkey Bar, in Frigate Bay is such a bar, opening at 10 in the morning and closing at 8 p.m. You’ll find a mixture of locals and visitors here, hanging around the bar, drinking and chatting as the day wares on; it’s a really relaxed vibe here which doesn’t get out of hand. Shipwreck, with its bar stocked full of Caribbean rums, is another establishment that closes at sundown.
Mallory's Pub is a cosy little venue, with each night being a theme night; Bingo on Mondays, local music on Tuesdays, Irish and Country Western music on Wednesdays, Student Night on Thursdays, Reggae Revival Night on Fridays, Party Night on Saturday, and Jazz Night on Sunday.
Themed nights don’t just exist at Mallory’s… at Mr. X Shiggidy Shack you’ll find evening bonfires on Thursday nights, dance parties on Friday nights, and karaoke on Saturdays. Friday nights are especially busy, with locals and tourists coming along to shake off the day.
If games are more your thing, take on one of your travel companions or a local at the pool tables, dart boards, card tables, dominoes, chess, and checkers- amongst many more- at the Newtown Entertainment Centre. Beers and wines are available to keep you going as you play the night away.
Worried about missing a big game? Oasis Sports bar has big screen TVs with local, European and American sports on show, with draft beers to quench your thirst.
Other places to try are the restaurants with bar area attached including: Bambu's, Bobsy's Bar and Grill,Buddies Beach Hut, Circus Grill, Da Lime Beach Bar & Grill, Eddy's Bar & Restaurant,Flamingo Restaurant and Bar, Inon's Beach Bar and Grill, PJ's Restaurant and Bar,Reggae Beach Bar, Rock Lobster Restaurant and Bar, Sunset Cafe, Sunshine's Beach Bar and Grill, ChinChilla's Mexican Restaurant and Bar, and Tequila Sheila's.

And if you're looking for your very own pub crawl route, just come to Frigate Bay's famous Strip, the undisputed number one hot-spot on the island, and where the fun starts as early as 10 am.
NIGHTCLUBS
Club Kactus is uniquely located in a lighthouse outside Basseterre, and at weekends in particular is a lively hangout; Jamaican bands frequently to perform live on Friday or Saturday nights.
Although located quite a way from the city centre of Basseterre between Baker's Point and Stapleton, the relatively new Eclipse Bar and Nightclub is hot on the party scene with DJ’s spinning most nights. The weekends are when this place really picks up though; expect reggae, soca, and calypso music blasting through the speakers.
The long standing Henry's Night Spot in Cayon is a popular spot for dancing and entertainment on weekend nights.
NEVIS' NIGHTLIFE
Nevis is home to the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club- an open air joint. The lawn of the 18th century seaside plantation Great House is transformed using chimes and kites with each night offering something different, with Thursday being popular for the seafood buffet and live reggae music.
